A native New Yorker, Larry Winer’s love for music led him to studying Jazz, Classical piano and drums. After logging numerous hours in the recording studio he migrated to the University of Arizona where he received a BA in psychology and music. Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles quickly securing a place at J. Walter Thompson composing jingles for “The LA Opera” among other advertising projects.
In 1992, Larry joined Margarita Mix, mixing television campaigns for ESPN, Mitsubishi, Ford and the launch of the first annual X Games. Six years later, in 1998, he moved to LA Studios, where he became one of the top ADR and dialogue mixers for animated films. Larry has been featured in the LA Times “Working Hollywood” column for his high profile work on such films as Shrek, Madagascar and Over the Hedge. Other work includes King of the Hill, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, The Lion King, and the SpongeBob Square Pants movie.
After nine years of animation, Larry returned to Margarita Mix to work on Commercials and TV Shows. His commercial credits include the Chevrolet Brand Campaign, Svedka Vodka, Ghiardelli Chocolate, Kings Hawaiian Bread, GMC, Nascar, TurboTax and Honda Motorcycles. Recent TV shows include Bob’s Burgers on FOX, Brickleberry on Comedy Central, Richard Halmond’s Crash Course on BBC America and season one of Out There on IFC.
Embarking on a new adventure in 2013, Larry joined the 740 team as lead mixer/engineer. Together with 740, Larry’s energy and enthusiasm backed by a wealth of experience and sophistication, delivers 740 clients with some of the best post-production audio there is to offer in Los Angeles.
